Exhibitionism is a little-known sexual practice. Yet it exists in the gay community. An anonymous man shares his experience. He has practiced exhibitionism for several years.

For him, showing himself is not a casual act. It is a form of intimate spectacle. He offers his body to another's gaze. The voyeur becomes a silent partner. This exchange of looks creates strong tension.

"Risk is part of the fantasy," he explains. Fear of being seen adds excitement. This feeling is central to this practice. Adrenaline plays an important role in pleasure.

Exhibitionism can be practiced in different ways. Some do it in semi-public places. Others choose dedicated spaces. The boundary between private and public matters. Consent remains an absolute requirement.

In the gay community, this practice has history. Sexual freedom spaces have always existed. Saunas, backrooms, cruising areas: these spaces allow desire expression. They offer relatively safe settings.

But exhibitionism outside these spaces raises questions. Where is the legal limit? In France, imposed sexual exhibition is illegal. Distinguishing fantasy from reality is therefore crucial.

Our witness emphasizes this point. He always seeks consensual gaze. "I don't want to impose anything," he says. This ethics of desire is fundamental for him.

Magazine Têtu publishes a full account on this topic. It addresses psychological aspects of this practice. It also explores emotions experienced by participants. Such testimony helps understand sexuality diversity.

Speaking openly about these practices matters. It breaks taboos. It also better informs the LGBTQ+ community. Understanding desire means understanding yourself better.
