Attacks on gay and queer artists are increasing. Yet this artist refuses to give up. He continues with his work. The pressure is noticeable, but not overwhelming enough to silence him.

The series he creates now came from different sources. Personal experiences play a big role. Stories from others in the community touch him deeply. He saw colleagues being attacked. Some stopped creating, others became more careful. That touched him.

"Actually, that is exactly why I continue," he says. "If artists choose silence, those who want to silence us win. I don't accept that." He understands this brings risks. Online hate messages happen every day. Yet it feels necessary for him to tell his story.

His work is about identity, love and resistance. These are not political statements, but personal expressions. Yet people often read them as political. "I make art because I must," he explains. "It's about expressing myself without fear." This position should inspire others in the art world too.
