The news site Nius is known for being anti-LGBTQ. The platform regularly publishes harmful content about the LGBTQ+ community. Yet Nius recently launched a major advertising campaign. BVG was one advertising partner. It is Berlin's public transport company.

Many people reacted angrily to this partnership. Berlin's queer representative also spoke out. He asked BVG to end its work with Nius. His protest had an effect.

BVG has now decided to stop the advertising campaign. The company said it takes concerns seriously. BVG refuses to support platforms that discriminate against people. This especially applies to queer people.

This is an important step forward. Public companies have a leadership role to play. They must show they support all citizens. This includes LGBTQ+ people too. By advertising with Nius, BVG seemed not to send this message.

BVG's decision is welcomed by the queer community. Activists say companies must think more carefully about advertising choices. Money going to anti-LGBTQ media indirectly harms LGBTQ+ people.

Nius is a relatively new news platform in Germany. It is run by well-known media figures. Critics say it deliberately spreads controversial and discriminatory content. This attracts many visitors. But it comes at the cost of vulnerable groups like the queer community.

The BVG case shows how important public pressure is. Citizens and representatives can hold companies accountable for their choices. Sometimes companies actually change their behavior. That is a positive signal for the future.
